Die Ozeane spielen für den Klimawandel eine große Rolle. Dennoch werden die Managementoptionen für den ozeanischen Kohlenstoffkreislauf in ökonomischen Analsysen bislang kaum berücksichtigt. Der Lehrstuhl beschäftigt sich im Rahmen des interdisziplinären Kieler Excellence Clusters "Die Zukunft des Ozeans" mit diesem Themenkomplex (mehr...). Außerdem ist die Forschergruppe am Lehrstuhl an verschiedenen Drittmittelprojekten beteiligt.
